Meet Little Sister Aubree and Big Sister Whitney

If anything has shown strong this year, it’s that we are truly Bigger Together.

In April, one of our newest matches, Little Sister Aubree and Big Sister Whitney, met. Aubree’s older sister has had a mentor for years, so Aubree has been excited about getting matched with her own mentor. She knows what to expect. She even said that she’s “been waiting [her] entire life for a Big!”

These two were matched because they both enjoys arts, crafts, and reading. They are excited to experience new things together, especially the outdoors and parks.

With COVID-19 continuing to impact the way matches connect, matches may meet virtually or one-on-one out in the community depending on State/CDC guidelines and comfort level of the Big, Little and Little’s family.

Little Sister Aubree and Big Sister Whitney, pictured above during their first-ever match meeting, look forward to exploring different parks around Kalamazoo, and attending outdoor events this summer!

Big Brothers Big Sisters asks each of its matches to define 3 goals for their first year being paired. These are Aubree and Whitney’s:

  1. Work with Aubree on focusing more
  2. Help Aubree improve in math
  3. Explore outdoor activities in Kalamazoo

Aubree is so excited to have a Big she can have fun with, talk to, and go places with (just like her sister!).
